 About Me

Welcome to my teaching and leadership  portfolio! I have been an educator in the city of Chicago for nearly nine years. I started my career through Teach for America in 2014 where I taught Pre-K for two years at a community-based organization in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. My passion for reading and writing at the secondary level led me to transition to teaching 9th grade English composition at Muchin College Prep. I have been part of the Muchin community for nearly seven years during which I have gained experience in teaching ELA and mid-level management. I am currently serving as the Dean of Instruction for our Humanities teams. My portfolio documents teaching in the high school classroom (2016-2021) and my transition into full-time leadership (2021-present). Please feel free to explore and reach out if you have any questions or inquiries!

 About this Portfolio

This portfolio consists of two parts: artifacts from my time in the classroom and artifacts from my time in school leadership. Many of the teaching artifacts are from the year of remote learning as that was my most recent and last year of teaching in the classroom. During that year, I taught 11th grade students in AP English Language & Composition. I have also included artifacts from my four years as a 9th grade English Composition teacher to supplement my artifacts from remote learning. Some of the most fundamental practices of my teaching were best reflected during in-person learning.

All artifacts included are meant to provide some insight into my teaching and leadership philosophies and practices.
